Kekaha Homes for Sale
Kekaha, which translates to “The Place” from Hawaiian, is a census-designated place southwest of the main island of Kauai County, Hawaii. The small town is directly west of Waimea and southeast of the Barking Sands Airport. Kekaha lies on the very west side of Kauai, alongside beautiful white sandy beaches. Relatively removed from the busy part of Kauai, Kekeaha remains a remote rural district. Kekaha’s history includes a sugar plantation and today’s Pacific Missle Range Facility. The community is along the Kaumualii Highway and features easy access to the similarly named Kekaha Beach. However, that beach, in particular, is not suitable for swimming, you can still enjoy the view and refreshing ocean air. For those planning a trek into the Waimea Canyon State Park and the many forest reserves to the north, Kekaha is the last town you can stock up on supplies and grab a bite to eat before getting into the wilderness for an exciting outdoor adventure.
